Gallery

My photography process starts with research, using resources such as Google Earth to identify potential locations. Then I look at those locations in differing conditions in terms of background, subject, light, weather, action - and tidal flow if the river Thames is featured. Finally, I select the best angle and composition and, where necessary, wait for the right person to enter the scene.

Even when all preparations are completed and I’m in position with the camera ready on the tripod, sometimes I’ll wait for hours to get the best version of the image I’ve imagined..

I’m drawn to a variety of locations and subject matter at different times, rather than consciously trying to shoot in particular genres. But my work to date can be broadly categorized under the following headings.
